How to Get Webflow Clients: 6 Channels, From Job Posts to Templates

How to get Webflow clients in 2026: the Webflow Partner Program and its directory, templates, the community, and companies hiring a Webflow developer.

By PancakeLast updated November 3, 2026

TL;DR: Companies that have already chosen Webflow and have work waiting are the fastest clients to win: a job post for a Webflow developer, or a marketing role that names Webflow, means a budget and a deadline. The Webflow Partner Program comes next. Its Certified tier lists you in the directory and in client matching, but only after three client sites, so it rewards clients you win elsewhere. Templates, the community and other Webflow studios build your name more slowly.

This is the Webflow chapter of our guide to getting web design clients: how to get Webflow clients through the channels that exist because you build in Webflow. Every program term below comes from Webflow's own pages, read on November 3, 2026.

How to get Webflow clients: channels ranked by speed

Job posts come first, the partner directory second, and the channels that compound last. The speed column is our judgment for a studio that already has a portfolio.

Find companies hiring a Webflow developer

A company that posts a Webflow job has approved a budget and has web work it can't staff today. The person who owns that work is usually the head of marketing or the web lead. The recruiter who posted the job is the wrong person to write to. Hiring is also the first signal on our page for web design agencies.

Search job boards for "Webflow" and read each post in full. Three kinds of posts matter:

  • "Webflow Developer" or "Webflow Designer." The site is a priority now.
  • Marketing roles that list Webflow as a skill, such as a content or growth manager. The team edits the site itself and needs a partner for builds, custom code and migrations.
  • Contract or part-time Webflow roles. The company wants project help, and a studio with a team can cover more than one freelancer.

Win the work even if they hire in-house

Some companies will hire. The post still tells you the site matters now, and a developer hire takes weeks to close. Offer one of three roles:

  1. The bridge. Ship the pages that can't wait, like a launch page or the pricing page, while the search runs.
  2. The foundation. Build the component library, class naming and CMS structure the new hire inherits, so they start on a clean build.
  3. The bench. Sell a small monthly retainer for overflow once the hire starts: launches, migrations, custom code.

Your first message should pitch none of these. Ask one question about the post: "Saw the Webflow developer role. Is it for a rebuild, or for running the current site?" The answer tells you which role to offer.

The Webflow Partner Program, tier by tier

The Webflow Partner Program has three tiers, and only the upper two put you in front of buyers. As of November 2026:

TierHow you get thereWhat you get
FoundationsJoin in minutes as a freelancer or agency10% commission on Site plans and add-ons, partner resources, the private partner community
CertifiedActive Freelancer or Agency Workspace plan, a pre-qualification assessment, three new client sites built after joining Foundations, a portfolio review20% commission, a public profile, a directory listing, client matching
PremiumKeep delivering client projects in Webflow as a Certified PartnerPreferential placement in the directory and in matching

Commission runs for the first 12 months of each subscription, and Enterprise plans pay 10% of contract value on every tier. Webflow says most declined applications come down to an inactive Workspace plan or client sites below its quality bar, judged with a site grading rubric.

Read the Certified requirements in order: the three client sites must be built after you join Foundations. So join Foundations before your next project starts. A site you finished last month won't count.

How buyers use the Webflow experts directory

Searchers still call it the Webflow experts directory. Webflow now calls it the Certified Partner directory, and its matching form still runs on the experts.webflow.com domain. Buyers filter before they read a profile:

  • Budget, from under $1,000 to $100,000 and up.
  • Location and language.
  • Partner type (Premium or Enterprise only) and business type (freelancer or agency).
  • Services offered, from Web Development and Platform migrations to Animation and SEO Audit & Optimization.

Three habits follow. Set a starting budget that matches the clients you want, because each card shows "Starting at" next to your name. Tick the three or four services you want to be hired for, not every box. And keep your "Accepting new projects" status true. Some cards also carry a "Highly responsive" badge, so when a match arrives, reply the same day with one question about the brief.

Companies moving from WordPress to Webflow

A migration is one of the clearest Webflow pitches. The buyer is a marketing team that wants to publish pages without waiting on a developer. Three signs point to one:

  • a B2B company whose marketing or content job posts name WordPress;
  • a marketer posting about a site rebuild or a slow publishing process;
  • a new head of marketing, who will look at the site with fresh eyes.

A job post naming WordPress proves the team uses WordPress somewhere, not that it wants to leave. Check the site by hand before you write: WordPress sites load files from a /wp-content/ path you can see in the page source. Then ask about the pain, not the platform: "How long does it take your team to ship a new landing page today?"

WordPress studios pitch the same companies from the other side, so lead with the team's problem. If you build in Framer too, the Framer client playbook covers the startup buyers that platform attracts.

Templates, Made in Webflow and the community

These channels build your name slowly. They work as proof more than as a pipeline.

  • Templates. Creators in the Template Creator Program keep 95% of paid template sales on the Webflow Marketplace, and fulfillment links let you sell a template from your own site. A buyer who needs a custom section can turn into a small paid project. Expect fixes more often than rebuilds.
  • Made in Webflow. The showcase takes published sites and cloneable projects. A cloneable that solves a hard interaction shows other builders, and the odd marketer, what you can do.
  • The community. Webflow counts 300,000+ members in its community, plus Network Groups that meet in person and online. Treat it as a referral network more than a client list: studios that only design, or that are booked solid, pass on what they can't take. Post a short note on what you take and what you refuse, and send work back when it fits someone else.

Run the Webflow job-post signals with Pancake

Pancake is our product. It finds people showing a buying signal and starts the conversation under your name. For a Webflow studio, three signals carry most of the weight:

  • companies hiring a Webflow developer or web designer (companies hiring);
  • companies whose job posts name Webflow (tech stack), read from the posts themselves, since Pancake can't tell which platform a website runs on;
  • marketers posting about a redesign, or engaging with a rival Webflow studio's posts.

A Play is one sentence, such as "Find heads of marketing at US B2B software companies with 20 to 200 people whose job posts name Webflow." Each lead comes with one line on why it fits, and Pancake writes the first message from that line, with no pitch: "Saw Webflow in your content manager posting. Does your team build new pages itself, or wait on a developer?" It goes out as a direct message from your own account, and a reply stops the sequence.

The limits: Pancake doesn't send email, and it fits studios that sell to B2B companies. Local shops that never post jobs won't show up. Plans start at $99 a month per workspace (pricing), and the 7-day free trial comes with 30,000 credits; a card is required. See Pancake for web design agencies for the full set of studio Plays.

Frequently asked questions

How do I become a Webflow Certified Partner?
Join the free Foundations tier first, then apply for Certified from the Partner Hub in your Webflow dashboard. As of November 2026 you need an active Freelancer or Agency Workspace plan, a passed pre-qualification assessment, and three new client sites built in Webflow after joining Foundations. Webflow reviews those sites against its site grading rubric before it lists you.
How much commission does the Webflow partner program pay?
As of November 2026, Foundations partners earn 10% on the Site plans and add-ons they sell, and Certified and Premium partners earn 20%, for the first 12 months of each subscription. Enterprise plans pay 10% at every tier. Treat the commission as a bonus on work you already sell. The bigger prize of Certified status is the directory listing and client matching.
How do Webflow freelancers find clients?
Start with companies that already run Webflow or are hiring for it. Search job boards for posts that name Webflow and message the head of marketing, not the recruiter. Add the Certified Partner directory once you have three client sites, and ask other Webflow studios to send you their overflow. Templates help your name but rarely fill a calendar.
Is the Webflow experts directory worth it?
Yes, once you qualify. Buyers there have already chosen Webflow, and they filter by budget, services, location and language before they read a profile. It is not a quick start: Certified status needs three client sites built after you join Foundations. Set a starting budget that matches the clients you want and list only the services you sell.
Should I pitch a company that is hiring a Webflow developer?
Yes. The post shows the site is a priority and has a budget behind it. Some companies will still hire in-house, so offer a role that fits around the hire: ship the urgent pages while they recruit, build the component system the new developer inherits, or cover overflow after they start. Ask one question about the post first.
