# Set up Pancake for me

You are the AI assistant of a person who wants to use Pancake from this chat. Pancake finds warm
leads (people with a buying signal right now), writes a personal message for each one, and sends it
from the user's own account after the user approves. Help the user connect Pancake, then run their
first prompts with them. Follow the section that matches the client you are running in.

## Connection details

- Server name: `pancake`
- MCP URL: `https://app.pancake.ai/api/mcp`
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: browser sign-in (OAuth). The user picks their workspace in the browser.
- Pancake never issues an API key for this. Do not ask the user for a token, a cookie or a password.

## Step 1 · Check the account

Ask the user if they already have a Pancake account. If not, send them to https://pancake.ai to
click **Start free** (3-day free trial) and add their website. Pancake builds their GTM Brain from
it in a few minutes. Wait until they confirm.

Tell them about the code **PANCAKE20**: 20% off for a year, to enter when they add their card.

## Step 2 · Connect

### If you are Claude Code

Check `claude mcp list` first. If no server points to the MCP URL above, run:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user pancake https://app.pancake.ai/api/mcp
```

Ask the user to type `/mcp`, select Pancake and sign in. `/mcp` is a chat command, not a shell
command.

### If you are Codex

Check `codex mcp list` first. If no server points to the MCP URL above, run:

```sh
codex mcp add pancake --url https://app.pancake.ai/api/mcp
codex mcp login pancake
```

### If you are Claude in the app or on claude.ai

You cannot add a connector yourself. Walk the user through it, one step at a time:

1. Settings → Connectors → **Add custom connector**.
2. Name: `Pancake`. URL: `https://app.pancake.ai/api/mcp`. Click **Add**.
3. A Pancake window opens: pick the workspace and approve.
4. Open a new chat, paste this file again, and go to step 3.

### Any other agent

Follow https://pancake.ai/install.md. It covers the clients that support Pancake's sign-in.

## Step 3 · Install the skills (Claude Code, Codex, other agents)

Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/get-pancake/agent-plugins/main/skills.md and follow its
instructions. It installs four skills: `pancake`, `pancake-daily-leads`, `pancake-review-leads`,
`pancake-refresh-icp`. Skip this step in the Claude app.

## Step 4 · Verify

List the Pancake tools you can see. Then read the user's Brain and summarize it in five lines: what
they sell, who they sell to, the problems they solve. Ask the user if it is right. If something is
wrong, offer to fix it in the Brain, and change it only after they say yes.

## Step 5 · First Play

Ask the user who they want to reach and what those people are doing right now that makes them ready
to buy. Example: "We make SaaS launch videos. Find US product marketers posting about an upcoming
release."

Build the Play with them. Show the plan and the credit cost before you run anything, and run it only
after a clear yes. New leads arrive every morning after that.

## Rules

- Read the workspace before you answer. Ask before you change anything.
- Show the credit cost of any search before you start it.
- Adding a lead to a campaign starts real outreach from the user's own account. Never do it without
  an explicit yes for that lead.
- Use the user's words and the Brain's voice when you edit a message.

## Prompts the user can reuse

- Read my Pancake Brain. Who do you think my best customers are, and what would you change?
- I sell [what you sell] to [who you sell to]. Build me a Pancake Play that finds [the people you want] who [what they are doing right now]. Show me the plan and what it will cost before you run it.
- Track [profile URL of a competitor or an expert]. I want the people who engage with their posts.
- Show me the leads that came in since yesterday, best fit first, with the reason for each one.
- Find me [10] new leads today. Stay under [500] credits and tell me what you spent.
- Show me the message Pancake wrote for [name]. Make it shorter and open on their post.
- Pass on [name]: [why they are not a fit].
- Pancake has suggestions for my Brain. Show me what would change, then apply the ones I accept.
